Today Harmonix Music Systems has announced that Rock Band 4 will be released for both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

The franchise is returning after a long hiatus, and the developer wants to bring it back with full force: you will be able to transfer all the DLC songs that you have bought to the new game, with no import fee attached to it. However, music on-disc will not transfer, due to licensing restrictions.

As for the previous gen instruments and their compatibility with this new gen, Harmonix is working with Sony and MS to create some kind of adapter that can make your old plastic instruments compatible with the new consoles. Also, say goodbye to your old plastic keyboard, which is not returning for this entry.

Being raised with a Commodore 1541 and a PC 286, little Pablo Vecchio has been into games since childhood. Called “the weird guy” during elementary, he spent most of his time with his Family Game and his Sega Genesis. Fast forward 20 years, and he has become a full PlayStation gamer, mostly loving RPGs and fighting games. The guy loves the original Final Fantasy Tactics (PSOne), which he still plays on his cellphone, and hates James Pond, mostly because of the lack of creativity while ripping off James Bond (bad guy is called Doctor Maybe, I shit you not) He’s also a frustrated musician and male model (as you can see in the picture), and does computer stuff for a living.
